Both being too early and being late is disrespectful to the other. I come from a family of punctual people. My dad was one of those old-school gentlemen, you know, the kind who opens the car door, pulls up the chair, gives flowers and smells delicious. And an inherent quality in him was punctuality. He always liked to arrive about fifteen or twenty minutes before the scheduled time and he used to wait only two or three minutes to make his presence known. Nowadays, punctuality is not part of the customs of the society in which I live and as much as I try to lift my shoulders and act crazy, trying to play it down, the truth is that it is something that bothers me a lot.
