Getting married someday is one thing I have always prayed for. Even though I am not married yet, I have envisioned what my typical home will look like when I get married. What is your view about couples choosing to stay in separate rooms even though they stay in the same house?

This doesn’t seem like a good idea to me. I don’t buy the idea of couples staying in different rooms. Sleep is one of the most important things we need as human. Sleep puts us at peace and if we sleep beside our partners, we have the tendency of having a longer lifespan and it increases or boosts our health. At the same time, as couples, we need that bond. We need to sleep beside each other, touch each other, make love so we can become more intimate. And sleeping together reduces the rate of fight or quarrels in the marriage. So sleeping in separate rooms will only reduce their intimacy and I’m never going to allow that in my marriage.

Do you think question 1 should be discussed by husband and wife before marriage? Why

Yes! It has to be discussed. which do you prefer, sharing the same room with your spouse or living in separate rooms, give your reasons.

I come from a home where my parents do things together, wear same clothes and even share the same room so I’m used to that typical kind of home and I’ve seen how beneficial it can be to marriages and that’s what I want for myself as well. I can’t count how many times I saw my parents quarrel in the night and end the rift in the morning which is as a result of sleeping together.
