A Serene Mini Pond on My Balcony 📸

But a pond is never complete without life. I introduced various small fish species like guppies, mollies, and platies into the water. These little swimmers added vibrant motion to the stillness of the pond. It’s truly mesmerizing to watch them dart through the water, hide under leaves, or swim playfully in groups. They’ve brought a sense of liveliness and charm that made the pond feel like a miniature ecosystem.

Photographing this setup has been an absolute joy. The way sunlight reflects off the water, the soft ripples around the leaves, and the gentle movement of the fish all create a visual harmony that I wanted to preserve through photography. Every shot felt like freezing a peaceful moment in time.I use my smartphone camera to take most of these photos, and I rely mostly on natural lighting. Early mornings and late afternoons are my favorite times to shoot. During these hours, the light is soft, shadows are subtle, and the reflections on the water become magical. I don’t use filters just nature in its raw beauty.

One of my favorite shots is a close-up of a baby fish swimming beneath the leaves, captured just as it peeked out into the light. Another favorite shows the textures of the lotus leaves, some with tiny dew droplets clinging to their surfaces. Each photograph tells its own story a story of growth, calm, and coexistence.

This mini pond project has become more than just a hobby. It’s a space that brings me mental peace and a deeper appreciation for the simple beauty around us.
