Vale destacar que en principio la efemérides relativa no se fijó para el 17 de Mayo sino para el 25 de Octubre, sin embargo, en Noviembre de ese mismo año en Túnez se propuso a la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU) que se promoviera esta celebración el 17 de Mayo y en efecto así quedó establecida ampliando su alcance para denominarse igualmente **Día Mundial de las Telecomunicaciones de la Sociedad de la Información**, hecho que está ampliamente registrado, documentado divulgado en la web. >Greetings to all, this May 17th the **World Internet Day** was celebrated and being such an important date I could not simply let it pass without making an inherent post, since 2005 on the initiative of **Association of Internet Users** was promoted together with other groups to dedicate one day of the year to highlight *the value of the Internet in our lives and reflect on it*. Hoy en día, de la mano de internet mucha de la actividad que antes se llevaba a cabo por medio de dispositivos físicos ha saltado al espectro virtual o actividad en línea, espacio en el cual existen infinidad de aplicaciones de diversa índole que permiten una interconexión humana fluida, en tiempo real y muy dinámica. Uno de las actividades más beneficiadas con la internet en la actualidad tiene que ver con el aspecto de las comunicaciones el cual se ha diversificado y ramificado de forma impresionante permitiendo una agradable interacción entre usuarios no sólo a nivel textual sino en una suerte de cara a cara mediante conexión audiovisual. >Although it is true that before the existence of the Internet there was a great variety of technological devices that in many ways have made human life easier, there was no fundamental element that would allow global and planetary interconnection not only at the level of data and information but also at the level of distance interpersonal relationships. Adicionalmente, otra actividad que en principio de la pandemia de vio fuertemente afectada por la medida de distanciamiento social fue el comercio e intercambio económico que afortunadamente, gracias a la conectividad a internet, el paradigma de la economía digital se abrió paso en nuestras vidas. En este sentido, desde la ONU, OIT y UNESCO se ha insistido en una campaña marcada por frases como **no dejemos a nadie atrás**, **todos sin excepción** con el propósito de crear conciencia social en torno a la necesidad de equipos y conexión a internet para todos, tomando en cuenta de que en esta realidad, esperemos que transitoria, todas las relaciones sociales, laborales y educativas son llevadas a cabo en línea.
