Discover other types of black holes.

On July 15, 2025, NASA published these images taken by the James Webb Space Telescope, in which a possible black hole of direct collapse is discovered. The primordial black holes that formed in theory are objects that we do not know yet, we have not discovered any, but in theory it says that they should have formed during the Big Bang, all of them of all kinds of sizes, the small ones will have already dissolved and will remain well, well, of the mass from a large mountain to any other type of mass, but they are theoretical.

There are known stellar mass black holes. which are those that are formed when a massive star collapses and supermassive black holes exist, like the one in the center of the galaxy, our galaxy, which is called Sagittarius A*. Virtually all galaxies have a black hole at their center and this detail is important.

NASA warns in the statement that this announcement is a combination of peer-reviewed results, that is, proven results and other data that is in progress of review, which has not yet passed peer review, so there may still be doubts, but if what they have discovered is confirmed, it would be another type of supermassive black hole, another different type of formation.

When examining these images, researchers Peter Van Ducum from the University of Jale and Gabriel Banner from the University of Copenhagen discovered this unusual object to which they gave the epic name of the Infinity Galaxy. It sounds like something for a movie, to be honest, but it is the name they have given to this object that they discovered by reviewing the James Webb data, and they have given it this name, because it has an extremely unusual shape, it has two nuclei that are the brightest points that you see on both sides, very compact, each one surrounded by a ring and all this gives the impression of being a kind of Moevius strip, which is the symbol of infinity.

Researchers believe that this object was formed by the head-on collision of two disk galaxies. Later observations showed that the Infinity Galaxy houses a supermassive black hole with a mass of approximately 1 million solar masses, but the curious and unusual thing is that this supermassive black hole is located between the two nuclei within a vast region of gas. The two nuclei are those of the galaxies that collided and each of them has its supermassive black hole and they are also active because, with the collision, there moved masses of gas, stars and they will surely be devouring material freely.

So what they have captured are three black holes. Where did the third one come from, the one in the middle? They are three supermassive black holes, two correspond to each of the galaxies that collided and the one in the middle.

According to these researchers, this supermassive black hole came out and also occupies that place between the two nuclei because it was formed in an unusual way and was also formed recently. They believe that what the Jason Web captured is the birth of a supermassive black hole through the direct collapse of a gas cloud.

What happened here is that, when the gas masses of the two galaxies collided, because galaxies also have large masses of gas, they collided, compacted and collapsed directly into a supermassive black hole, and quite amazing because until now it was believed that supermassive black holes were in a process. A star was created, a massive star, it collapsed, the black hole was created. That black hole was eating more material, then it ate another smaller black hole and thus it grew little by little, but no, here it is automatic.

Two super clouds of gas, each from each galaxy, collide, compact and form a supermassive black hole. If this is confirmed, it could explain the strangeness that astronomers have at finding supermassive black holes in the primitive universe that cannot be explained how they could grow so quickly in such a short time.
