Este distinguido artista plástico nació el 11 de mayo de 1824 en Vesoul (Francia). Sus primeras orientaciones artísticas las realizó bajo la tutela del maestro Claude Basile Cariage. # En el año 1841 viajó a París para formarse en la Academia Julian. # Con la obra "Pelea de gallos" (1846) ganó una medalla de tercera clase en el año 1847. # Gérome viajó a Constantinopla, Grecia y Turquía. Por ello, muchas de sus obras están contextualizadas en esos lugares visitados por el artista. # En el año 1857, Gérome se convirtió en una figura relevante de la pintura, debido a sus exposiciones en el Salón de París. # Contrajo nupcias en el año 1863 con Marie Goupil, quien era hija del marchante de arte internacional Adolphe Goupil. # Gérome perteneció al movimiento "Academicista". Sus obras tratan temas históricos, mitológicos y retratos. # Falleció el 10 de enero de 1904, a los 79 años, cuando se encontraba trabajando en su taller. # A continuación les presentamos tres de sus obras para que usted escoja la que más le guste para escribir en torno a ella. la primera se titula ***Pelea de gallos*** (1846), la segunda, ***La verdad saliendo del pozo*** (1896) y la tercera ***Pollice Verso*** (1872).

This distinguished plastic artist was born on May 11, 1824 in Vesoul (France). His first artistic orientations were carried out under the tutelage of the teacher Claude Basile Cariage. # In 1841 he traveled to Paris to train at the Julian Academy. # With the work "Pelea de gallos" (1846) he won a third class medal in 1847. # Gérome traveled to Constantinople, Greece and Türkiye. For this reason, many of his works are contextualized in those places visited by the artist. # In 1857, Gérome became a relevant figure in painting, due to his exhibitions at the Paris Salon. # He married Marie Goupil in 1863, who was the daughter of the international art dealer Adolphe Goupil. # Gérome belonged to the "Academicist" movement.
