She called out and her heart tightened in both anticipation and fright The man paused in his tracks seemingly surprised. "Emel?!" His brows furrowed lightly With tears trickling down her face, Emelia ran as fast as her legs could, clinging unto him. It was her husband! It was her Frank! Frank had always referred to her as 'Emel' right from highschool. He was here too. Apparently, she had not completely lost her mind. "I missed you... I missed you so much. I even thought I was loosing my mind" she mumbled in-between tears "Em... Emel... Emelia" Frank stuttered Shock, confusion and frustration could be clearly seen on his face. What exactly was wrong with her? It's been eight years since we last had anything to do with each other. So who exactly are you putting on this show for?" "Eight years?!!" Emelia simply couldn't believe her ears They were married?! How could they have been apart for eight whole years? "Mr Grey, We sincerely apologize for this?" Lexie, her assistant hastily apologized "Emelia, we are leaving?!" Matthew heaved out trying to keep his emotions in check There had been too shock to react a while ago. They could have sworn that no matter how insane she got, the Emelia Gaston they know will never go as far as hugging her ex. The same man she detested so much. "No wait?! I don't understand. Frank, it's me! Emel?!" Emelia refused to be held back by her assistant She finally found the familiar face she had been looking for since this madness began and he knew her. That should be a reason to celebrate. She was not alone in this insanity but then, what had gone wrong? Not only did he seem to not want anything to do with her, the way he looked at her was different, cold, distant and completely unfamiliar. "After the fall, she lost some of her memories" Matthew found an excuse to put forward He didn't want to say she might be insane. That wasn't the kind of news, they wanted the press to get a hold of. Especially not at this point in time. "Lost her memories" The already frustrated Frank chuckled, sort of in mockery No form of sympathy or whatever could be seen in his eyes even as he stared at her. "Whatever, just keep her away from me. We can't afford to ruin her perfect career now, can we?" he was obviously being sarcastic "Emelia, please let's go. Let's not make another scene" Matthew cautioned "Frank, how... Why.... What exactly is happening? How could you be so cruel?" Emelia just couldn't understand what could have happened eight years ago in this reality that would make the one person that promised to care for her for a life time to look at her with so much aversion. "Cruel?! Did you just call me cruel?" Emelia Gaston, could I ever live up to you in cruelty?" He scoffed "You lost your memories right? How about I give you a brief recap" "Miss Gaston, eight years ago you left me at the alter. In Miami, the beach wedding, ocean blue stripes, the pearly decor. I don't know maybe more important issues came up? Well that happens everyday, doesn't it? We could talk about it and I don't know maybe come up with something. If you want to delay the wedding a little so you can concentrate on your career like you have been doing then that's fine" "We're a couple, we can pull through this. I must have really been so dumb! Guess how I found out that there's was going to be no wedding, not then, not ever. On a tabloid, some Randy Awake crappy tabloid. A perfect typical cliche, The good for nothing, possessive, traditional ex trying to...I don't know... to imprison the high flying ambitious feminist" "How many times did I go find you in that your fancy company to talk things out?" He walked closer to her "Emel, how many times did I come to find you? You acted like we were strangers. Like I was some horrible ex that abused you or something. The stories spinning about on social media amongst your fans were just the worst. I was even amused by most of them" "What I really wanted to know Emel, what went wrong? What happened? We were getting married Emel! What happened back in Miami? How did we become strangers?" "That's all I wanted to know! I just wanted to get some answers. That's all... Well good news, I'm no longer curious nor am I interested. Everything happens for a reason doesn't it?" "Frank... I don't... I did not know" Emelia stuttered How could she explain to him when even she was confused? How could she provide the answers to his question when... she was not her. She was not that Emelia Gaston? "You don't know?!" He scoffed, pissed "How about this one? It just happened a few weeks ago. You couldn't have hit your head too hard that you forgot it too?!" "You messaged my fiancee, warning her about going forward with our marriage next week. Emelia Gaston, What is your problem with me?!" His sentences were laced with intense sarcasm and he kept rubbing his forehead. It was certain, he was not just mad, he was furious and agitated. She could tell that much. She had lived with this man for eight years, at least in her memories. "You have a fiancee? You are getting married in two weeks?" Those were the only words she could mutter A tear slowly slid from her left eye. How did she end up here? Worst, what did this Emelia Gaston do right years ago that made her own life so different from hers?!! "Why do you suddenly care Miss Gaston? Why do I now matter in your world?" He voice softened perhaps because of the tear that fell from her eyes or perhaps not She had been putting on an attitude and suddenly became aware of his existence since she found out he was getting married. He didn't dare to think that it was because she cared about him that way. It couldn't be, she completely shut him out eight years ago. "Frank... There is something I need to tell you... " Emelia wiped the tear from her eyes She was going to tell him about what happened to her that way they could figure out what went wrong together. She was going to tell him that they were married and even had three kids together. In the end, he was probably going to think that she was mad but with him she had a better shot than the others. She had been with this man almost all her life and he was the only familiar face she could recognize. There were things she knew about him, that the other Emelia Gaston could never know. If only she could proof it to him, he probably wouldn't think that she had lost her mind like the others. "It's about... " "Frank!" Another voice rang out "Camille?!" Emelia frowned Another familiar face but absolutely not one she wanted seeing. "Emelia Gaston, what do you want with my fiance?" "Your fiance?!"
