Debí haberlo advertido por allá en 1995. Cuando esos engendros, ahora llamados móviles, (noten la advertencia velada, que nos dice que ellos pueden moverse), comenzaron a predecir lo que queríamos escribir en los mensajes de texto que enviábamos.

Pero yo no cedí a ese anzuelo que nos lanzaron. No tienen idea de cuánto me costó y la cantidad de cartas que les envié para que confesaran el secreto de cómo desactivar el uso automático del “predictor de texto”. ¡Noooo!, ¡ellos no me iban a controlar!

Pero no quisimos darnos cuenta a tiempo, y por la comodidad de dejar a otro escribir desde un simple "hola" por nosotros, les fuimos entregando nuestra voluntad. Se convirtieron en “los controladores”

Con bombos y platillos se llamaron “seres inteligentes”, y pagábamos lo que fuera por obtener la amistad del último modelo de esos seres mutantes. Modelos que se multiplicaban como la arena.

Les cedimos nuestra privacidad, a cambio de su supuesta protección. Les cedimos nuestras huellas dactilares, nuestros iris, los rasgos faciales, nuestra identidad. ¡Hasta duermen con ellos! Querían a nuestros hijos, y muchos se los cedieron.

¿Cómo terminamos siendo esclavos de esos “seres inteligentes”? Que supuestamente venían para ser nuestros amigos, para ayudarnos a nosotros: “los seres brutos”. ¿Por qué no nos dimos cuenta?

Les enseñamos a percibir como humanos, a pensar como humanos, a comunicarse mejor que los humanos. Ahora nos imitan, superándonos en todos los ámbitos, sustituyéndonos donde puedan.

Hace una hora nos encontraron. Se llevaron a mi esposa y a mis dos hijos. Me acusan de violencia familiar y maltrato psicológico continuado contra mi familia. Pues desde un principio me negué a dejarles usar dispositivos.

Se los llevarán para reeducarlos. Me acusan de cavernícola, por criarlos en la naturaleza, y enseñarles a leer y escribir con lápiz y papel. Por enseñarles a pensar y razonar por sí mismos.

Como castigo a mi locura, a mi paranoia, fui condenado a ser su conejillo de indias. Van a sembrar cada célula de mi cerebro con nano-dispositivos. Quieren mi conciencia.

Hoy, 30 años después de esos seres, ya son un enjambre con conciencia propia. Si por algún milagro estás leyendo esto, solo puedo pedirte que te cuides. Lo más seguro es que ya sea muy tarde, y que te hayan capturado con la última actualización de sus sistemas operativos. Quieren tu alma.

I should have warned you back in 1995. When those creatures, now called mobiles, (note the veiled warning, which tells us that they can move), began to predict what we wanted to write in the text messages we sent.

But I didn't fall for that bait they threw us. You have no idea how much it cost me or the number of letters I sent them to get them to confess the secret of how to deactivate the automatic use of the "text predictor." Noooo! They weren't going to control me!

But we didn't want to realize it in time, and for the convenience of letting someone else write a simple "hello" for us, we handed over our will to them. They became “the controllers.”

With great fanfare, they called themselves "intelligent beings," and we would pay anything to gain the friendship of the latest model of these mutant beings. Models that multiplied like sand.

We gave them our privacy in exchange for their supposed protection. We gave them our fingerprints, our irises, our facial features, our identity. They even sleep with them! They wanted our children, and many of them did.

How did we end up being slaves to these “intelligent beings”? Who supposedly came to be our friends, to help us: “the brute beings.” Why didn't we realize this?

We taught them to perceive like humans, to think like humans, to communicate better than humans. Now they imitate us, surpassing us in every area, replacing us wherever they can.

An hour ago they found us. They took my wife and two children. They accuse me of domestic violence and continued psychological abuse against my family. From the beginning, I refused to let them use the devices.

They will take them away to reeducate them. They accuse me of being a caveman, for raising them in the wild and teaching them to read and write with a pencil and paper. For teaching them to think and reason for themselves.

As punishment for my madness, my paranoia, I was condemned to be their guinea pig. They're going to seed every cell in my brain with nanodevices. They want my consciousness.

Today, 30 years after those beings, they are already a swarm with a consciousness of their own. If by some miracle you are reading this, I can only ask you to take care of yourself. Chances are it's already too late, and they've captured you with the latest update to their operating systems. They want your soul.
