I have to say, things are not going as well as I had expected. With my previous low-key successes with Lesbian Zombies from Outer Space, I thought a comic about Socrates and Athens would be an easier win. I figured the audience for lesbian zombies *had* to be a smaller niche than ancient Greece. I guess I was wrong? (Granted, this topic does not allow for R-rated Variant covers the way Lesbian Zombies did...) Well, I'm going to push through on these last days. Campaigns generally have a kind of barbell shape: lots of activity at the beginning, a long dry spell n the middle, and lots of activity at the end. Now here's a look at pages 4 & 5 - a spread page: ## *POLIS: The Trial of Socrates* *A historical graphic novel that examines the events leading up to the trial and execution of Socrates in ancient Athens. It's a bit difficult to do that with static images, but Daniel and I went back and forth a few times to get there. I think it works pretty well in the end. There is debate as to whether or not the historical Socrates appreciated Aristophanes' pokes at him, but, taking Plato's Symposium as evidence of their friendship, I think he did.
