While I don't have a problem with self-promotion I would NEVER upvote my own work or comments. Call me a wuss but I think it's immoral to vote on your own stuff, it's also misleading in that your posts will show a higher rate of votes than it probably deserves. Call me old fashioned but I was hoping Steemit had some sort of moral code given I see a lot of effort being put into eradicating plagiarism and crooked behaviour. Personally, I put upvoting yourself in the same category as cheating and plagiarism.

If only people would put the same kind of effort into producing a quality piece of work as they do in pursuing voting bots, comment bots, steem competitions, random votes and a whole raft of other services promising to get you $0.02 sadly it would seem a ~~good~~ portion of members are only interested in how much money they can milk Steemit for and have no desire to build a mutually beneficial community.

The other area that I find farcical with steem is someone submits a post and then spends all day on the chat services talking about it in an effort to get people to upvote it. This begs the question"Is the post being voted on because someone read it, liked it, thought it was worth an upvote or simply because they asked fellow chat room users to vote on their latest post?" this then leads on to a second thought, what is the point of a comment system on Steemit if the chat room is where the value influence is?

I await the baying crowd. :-D
